| Turkey is a fascinating
country with a long rich history - from the epic stories of the Trojan
War to the real life conquer Alexander the Great; from early Christians
to the 20th Century Ottoman Empire. It's also a country of incredible
scenery such as the caves of Cappadocia, the mineral deposits of Pamukkale,
and the ruins of Efesus. But above all these wonders, it's the people
of Turkey who captured my interest and captured my heart. On a tour of
Turkey in the 1990's I was impressed with how friendly and charming the
people were. By American standards they might be considered poor but they
have dignity and determination. It's my hope that the exhibit gave the
viewer a glimpse of a different culture but highlighting our our similarities. |
